Picture of child in school ENABLE was founded in 1994 and is a registered charity supporting Caerphilly Children’s Centre, which offers high quality services to hundreds of families living in the Caerphilly Borough who have children with disabilities or additional needs.  (link)

ENABLE fundraises for specialist equipment, building work, trips out and parties for the children. ENABLE also develops links with the community and raises public awareness. ENABLE  organises regular fundraising events such as cycle rides, fun-days, pantomimes and sponsored walks. See our events page for up-and-coming activities.

Members of ENABLE are all volunteers and include parents, professionals, Centre staff and friends from all sections of the community.

Since the Caerphilly Children’s Centre opened in 1990, it has  has continued to expand, and many of the improvements would not have been possible without the support of ENABLE.  These include:

  • A therapy extension  incorporating a hydrotherapy pool

  • An audio visual room

  • Additional staff accommodation

  • A new reception and waiting area with a weighing and measuring room

  • An Information and Advice Centre was completed in 2004 following a successful bid to the Community Fund

  • Another new extension which houses a floor-level trampoline
